Bull
“She’s gone Dante.”
“What do you mean, she’s gone?”
She said she had her ... you know, her female time of the month. She needed something to help with that and asked me to take her to the store. I did, and she sneaked out the back.”
“How do you know she sneaked out?”
“The manager told me that she went out the back when I described her to him and asked if he’d seen her. He was gonna call the cops because she told them that I was holding her against her will. I convinced him not to.”
“Bull?” Dante asked.
“I didn’t hurt’im. I swear. Didn’t even lay a finger on him. Told him that I was her bodyguard and she didn’t like having one and that was all there was to it. He didn’t wanna get involved, so he let it go.”
“Are you sure?”
“Well I ain’t seen no cops swirling around, and I’m kinda hard to miss.”
“I’m sorry Dante,” I said.
“It’s not your fault Bull. She’s probably been planning this since day one. I should have known.”
