One year later

“Happy birthday, Colin.”

My brother-in-law gives the gift-wrapped box I’m handing him a suspicious look. “Did Emma buy this, or did you?”

My stunning wife appears next to me with Rosie in her arms. “I did. Come on, open up.”

“Maybe later. I don’t want to mess up my outfit. For all I know, you put a smelly bath bomb in here.” Colin shakes the box before putting it aside.

I can tell he secretly enjoys this yearly tradition of getting a horrible gift from his sister. What he doesn’t know is that Emma got him a real one as well this year. When she saw the mechanic tool set during our weekend away, she snagged it up without even looking at the price. That’s how much she loves her brother.

“Yeah, you don’t want to look like a fool when Felicity arrives,” my wife teases him.

Colin’s tough demeanor softens for a split second. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Emma gives her brother a smug smile. “Really? Why do you think Felicity keeps bringing her car to your shop? No one needs to top up their engine oil that much. There’s only one explanation. She likes you.”

“Oops, looks like Dad needs me in the kitchen,” he says before turning on his heel and scurrying away.

“When have you ever helped in the kitchen? Just admit that you love her,” Emma calls after him.

I laugh and kiss her full on the lips. “Stop teasing the guy.”

“No way. It’s too much fun. You and I both know those two are meant for each other. All they need is a little push. I want them to be as happy as we are.”

I take the baby from her and smile. “I don’t know if anyone could be as happy as I am with you and Rosie in my life.”

It’s true. After our first amazing night together last year, Emma immediately moved in with me. We got married a few months later, and on the morning of our wedding, we found out Rosie was on the way. Life with my women is so much better than any life I could have dreamed up. Rosie and Emma are the reason I wake up smiling every day and go to bed filled with contentment and love every night.

And the sex...phew. Just thinking about it gets me hard. Emma’s a rockstar in the sheets.

“We should put Rosie down for her nap,” she says.

“I’ll take care of it. You go and have fun with your family. I’ll be back as soon as our angel is sound asleep.”

She stands on her tiptoes and kisses me. “Thank you, Stuart. You’re the best dad and husband in the world. What would you say about trying for another baby soon?”

“Babe, I’d love that. There’s enough space in our home and my heart for another rug rat or five.”

She gives me a shocked look. “Five? That many?”

I grin at her. “You’re right. Let’s start with a sister or brother for Rosie and take it from there.”

She smiles. “We’ve got forever, after all.”

“Forever and ever, sweet Emma.”
