EPILOGUE

“You better get a move on,” Andy said as he entered the room where David was getting ready for his wedding. “Macalister looks so nervous, he might just bolt.”

David rolled his eyes at his friend.  “Liar.  Mac would never leave me.”  That David knew deep in his bones.  Just a few short weeks ago, he hadn’t been so sure, but that had been a lifetime ago.

“Fine,” Andy grumbled.  “But he is looking anxious.  Making him wait any longer would be just cruel.”

David scowled as he looked at the eyeshadow he’d added.  No matter how many times he’d scrubbed it off and reapplied, he couldn’t get it right.  “But I wanted to do something special for Macalister.  I always wear eyeliner and mascara, so I thought some eyeshadow would be a perfect addition.”

“Why would you think wearing eyeshadow would make a difference to Macalister?” Shine said, dumbfounded.  “That man loves you.  Eyeshadow isn’t going to change that.”

That wasn’t what he wanted to hear after he’d spent so much time trying to put the stupid stuff on.  “But I can’t get married in my normal make-up.  I have to show Macalister this moment means even more than that to me.”

Shine shook his head.  “Whatever dills your pickle, but Andy’s right.  It’s time to shake a leg and get your tail feathers out there.”

David was fairly sure Shine had mashed together at least three different southern sayings in that one sentence but he didn’t have time to figure it out.  He had eyeshadow to conquer.  “You know, you two could offer to help.”

Shine looked horrified.  “Ah, no.  Unless you were hoping to look like a clown.”

Andy let out a huff.  “Here,” he said as he grabbed the brush and make-up.  “I swear you two are helpless.”

Less than a minute later, David looked in the mirror stunned at the image reflected back at him.  His smile wavered as he tried not to cry.  “Thank you,” he whispered as he wasn’t sure he could get his voice any louder at the moment.

Then he hugged Andy.

“Anytime.”  Andy pulled back and looked David up and down.  “Looks to me like you’re ready, so let’s get you down the aisle so you can get married.”

“Oh. My. God.”  Shine was stared at his phone.  Then he turned it to face David.  “Did you see this?”

In big letters was the headline Pawn Shop Owner Otto Richman arrested for child pornography.

David grabbed the phone and started to read the article, but then his stomach turned as he saw some of the details and he shoved the phone back at Shine.  “No.  I’m not about to read that on my wedding day.”

But he couldn’t deny he was happy the man was about to get what he deserved.  He just wished he hadn’t involved children in his sick perversions.

Shaking the thoughts from his head, he smiled at his friends.  “Come on, it’s time for me to get hitched.”

As he walked out the door, David knew he was wearing the biggest, goofiest grin on his face.  He couldn’t help it.  He was about to marry the love of his life.

“I can’t believe we got married,” David whispered as they made out in a closet off the hallway where their wedding reception was being held.

All their friends and even Macalister’s brother were there to share in the celebration.  Shine had joked the only people who married so quickly were those who had gotten knocked up.  David hadn’t found that funny, although Shine probably had a point.

He may not have known Mac all that long, but there was no doubt in his heart that this was the man he was meant to live his life with.

“What the hell is with this button?” Mac said along with several curse words as he tried to slip the button on David’s pants through the hole so he could take them off.

David batted his hands away before Mac ended up ripping his pants just before they were due in the reception hall.  Actually, they were already supposed to have gone in, but Mac told the wedding planner to stall for a few minutes before dragging David into this closet.

Easily sliding the button through the hole, he teased, “You just need finesse.  Maybe I should start wearing Velcro to make it easier for you.”

Mac grinned.  “Good idea.  Or better yet, start wearing elastic waistbands so I just have to pull them down.”  Just as he said that, Mac yanked David’s pants down his legs so they pooled at his feet.  Then he was carefully turned around and his hands placed against the wall so his ass was up in the air.

“I don’t know that sex in a closet before one’s reception is considered romantic.”  It wasn’t that David didn’t want to have sex with Mac.  Hell, it was hard to keep his hands off the man.  At the same time, he’d been hoping for the part where they danced in their room and drank a bottle of champagne as they whispered their love to each other.

Mac draped over David’s back and a kiss was placed on his shoulder, his neck, and his ear.  “Love, so long as I’m with you, I consider it magical.”

Now how could David argue with that?  “I love you, Mac.”

Mac tuned David’s head to the side and gave him a sloppy kiss.  “I love you too, Mr. Whitmore.”

“I don’t remember agreeing to take your name.”  In fact, David seriously didn’t want that last name considering the crazy family Mac had.

Slick fingers circled around his pucker.  “Let’s see what I can do to convince you.”

David would have said nothing, but all that came out was a moan when a finger slid deep within him.  Damn, but he loved Mac’s touch.  Although, he wasn’t kidding about the name change.

In the two weeks since they’d left New York, Mac’s mother had put her husband in a nursing home and taken up with a much younger man.  According to the nursing home staff, she never once even visited her husband.

Much to David’s shock, he’d been the one to suggest moving Mr. Whitmore down to a facility in Atlanta so he would be closer to Mac.  The only reason he’d done it was because of the way Mac’s father had looked at Mac in the hospital.  Like he regretted so much.  Too bad he still couldn’t speak the words.

The doctors weren’t sure if he’d ever get his ability to talk back again.  But this facility in Atlanta would help him to find other ways to communicate.  David may end up regretting moving the man closer to Mac, but he hoped at least one of Mac’s parents would turn out not to be a total douche.

A hiss slipped from his lips as a second finger slid inside of him.  When Mac brushed against his prostate, David let out a long low moan, not caring if anyone could hear them.

There was a knock and their wedding planner called, “Five more minutes and then I’m telling everyone where you are.”

Suddenly Mac removed his fingers and replaced them with the blunt head of his dick.  “Please, tell me you’re ready,” Mac whispered.

David nodded, not at all sure he was.  With not much time and needing to feel Mac inside of him, David was willing to take the chance.  Slowly, his channel was stretched.  The burn was painful, but not too bad as Mac took his time until he was balls deep.

The both groaned as Mac leaned in and David turned his head to the side and back for a kiss.  “I love you,” David whispered.

Mac smiled at him as his hands took hold of David’s hips.  “You are my everything.”

Then he pulled back slowly before slamming into David once more.  In minutes, they were both crying out in bliss as they both came.

Another knock on the door brought them quickly back from the euphoric state they had been in.  “One minute and I’m not kidding.”

They had barely gotten their clothes mostly back to normal when that knock came a final time, this time more of a fist pounding than an actual knock.  “Now.  The natives are getting restless and I’m done trying to explain your absence.”

With a quick peck on the lips, they opened the door and followed their wedding planner to the entrance of the reception hall.  “Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to introduce husband and husband, Macalister and David.”

David grinned over at Mac, who wore an equally broad smile.  Then he was pulled into his arms and kissed breathless.  It was the greatest feeling.

“There’s that look I love.  My bubbly David.  Just like this champagne.” Mac held up the glass a waiter had given him and touched it to the one David now had in his hand.  “Fun, flirty, and best of all, you lift me up with your love.”

David melted into Mac’s arms as they took their first sip of champagne as husband and husband.
