Beef Brisket

Isn’t it amazing that we are able to a make a hearty and flavorful dish from an ingredient that is inexpensive? Though brisket is inexpensive, the texture and taste when it is cooked in the slow cooker is so tender and succulent.

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes

Cooking Time: 6 to 7 Hours

Servings: 12

Ingredients:

5 lb beef brisket, well-trimmed

3 garlic cloves

½ cup tomato sauce

¼ tsp salt, preferably sea salt

½ tsp thyme

1 tsp vinegar

¼ tsp pepper

¾ cup water

4 bay leaves

Directions

1. Arrange the beef in the slow cooker.

2. Combine all other ingredients together in a bowl and then add them to the slow cooker and mix until they are well incorporated.

3. Cover the slow cooker then cook on low heat for 6 to 7 hours or until the meat is cooked.

Tip: Make sure to check it in between the cooking so as to ensure there is sufficient amount of water. It is possible to add your choice of vegetable provided it is low carb.
