14. Let Go of Fear and Flow into Love

Affirmation: “I let go of fear and immerse myself
in an endless wash of love.”

Imagine a replenishing, refreshing rainstorm made of pure love. What would it feel like to dance in that rain? Would you joyfully splash in the puddles? Would it be warm or cool? Would it be a color or clear? Let your imagination play with the idea of love rain, of glorious, rejuvenating, blissful drops of love dripping down your body and enlivening your soul.

As you imagine this love rain, notice if your body lets go of any tension and stress. You may feel your muscles relax. Your brain might let go of strain. Love is meant to be a central motivating factor in our lives. And yet, it’s also meant to be a challenge to work toward. The more you can release and wash away fear (the opposite of love), the more space you make for love to fill you. Allow love to wash through you and dissolve the fear. Let yourself relax into the love that is present in each moment, and put down your baggage so that you can embrace bliss. Do this by simply allowing it, no effort needed. Just read these words and open yourself.

You might fear getting hurt again in romance, so you lug around these heavy, bulky bags full of past hurt. You keep them close so you are sure not to make the same mistakes again. But all the while you are spending years weighed down needlessly by hurt and pain. The fear keeps you from accepting love in its totality and especially from really letting yourself feel it. How about putting down your own baggage? Let go of the fear and embrace the love all around.

Exercise: Healing Love Shower

In order to merge with the spirit of love and open your heart, we will use your actual shower to help you receive a cascade of warmth and compassion. This will help you let go more deeply and open your heart. Read this exercise first outside the shower and gather any essential oils you have in the house.

Get in your shower and put the water on so it’s nice and warm. If you have essential oils in the house, use some. Rose would be best, but lavender and bergamot are also good choices. Drop some oil in the corners of the shower and watch as you are wrapped in a fragrant steam. Be careful when you step in, as the oils can make the surface quite slippery.

When you’re ready, slide under the spray. Ask your body to relax, and open your heart as much as you can. Say, “This water is a wash of love to heal me, and I accept it. I let my fears wash away and am refilled with love, bliss, and joy.”

Watch the fears be washed away. Envision them flowing down the drain and being gently released. Sadness may surface. Let that wash away too. It will swirl down the drain with ease. Breathe and let go of any emotion. The flowing water helps it flow out. Just feel what comes up and allow it to move out of you. Just feel it, notice it, and let it go.

When you feel like that is all complete, switch the water to as cold as you can stand. Say, “I live love! I am bliss!”

The cold plunge at the end clears and seals your energy field, or aura. Step out refreshed and full of love.

In every heart a waterfall of love is primed to shower the world. #joyfulliving101
