31. List Your Lovableness

Affirmation: “I am lovable in endless ways.
I look myself straight in the eye with love and acceptance.”

You are so lovable! You have endless qualities that are endearing and that you can appreciate. Knowing yourself and accepting yourself leads to truly loving yourself. That power permeates your entire life.

Make a list right now of at least thirty things that are innately lovable about you. You can’t help these things; they are who you are. And you wouldn’t want to change them, because your idiosyncrasies, flaws, and quirks are just as valuable and beautiful as your talents, positive qualities, and propensities. You are lovable.

Keep your list of thirty wonderful things about yourself nearby. Make a new list and add to the one you have often. Affirm your brilliance. Affirm your wonderfulness. Love yourself. List your lovableness every week.

Here are some words to inspire your list of lovable qualities about yourself. See which of these resonate with you: lyrical, airy, ethereal, caring, kind, animated, quick, emotional, practical, loyal, blunt, conscious, direct, responsible, strong, grounded, and assertive. Use those qualities as starting points and keep listing your own unique lovableness!

Exercise: Loving Your Reflection

Part of recognizing how lovable you are is being able to look at your own reflection without judgment and just accept yourself the way you are. This exercise is designed to help you do just that.

Physically look into a mirror and look into your own eyes. Gaze for a while and disengage your mind. Feel energy flowing from the eyes in the mirror into your own. Allow communion with yourself on the other side of the mirror. Keep gazing. Relax your mind and body further. Unfocus your eyes. Let the image before you change, and remain emotionally unattached to it. Just witness. Just watch. Be open to impressions, feelings, sights, sounds, aromas, or kinesthetic sensations. Just watch and listen; gently pay attention.

Practice this gazing often. The more you gaze the more you will know, but the less you will strive to understand. You will learn to just be a witness to your true nature.

Write about your gazing experiences in a journal. Make sure to date the entry so that if you do this exercise more than once, you can distinguish when each experience occurred.

There is something lovable about almost everyone you encounter. Uncover it, and you will experience true compassion. #joyfulliving101
