Two men sitting together
In silent harmony
And sometimes in noisy peace
Sharing their mental sins
Sipping Whisky or perhaps Gin
Laughing at silly matters
Engaging in ceaseless chatter
Repeating anecdotes
On which they dote
Pulling each other’s leg
As they have a peg
Preferring each other’s company
To that of their wives
Sharing fragments of life
Lapping up each other’s advice
Accepting each other’s vice
Getting excited about sports
On an enthusiastic note
Two men sitting together
In silent harmony
And sometimes in noisy peace
Caring for one another
Shielding each other
Against the world’s knife
Sharing fragments of life
Crying with each other and smiling too
Being in each other’s shoes
Friends they are
Each other’s star
