Muffin

I am in a hotel room

I will get up soon

I missed breakfast like I always do

My laziness is nothing new

I observe two muffins lying on a plate

Might as well get up, it is quite late

I put the kettle on

Reflect how seldom I’ve seen the glory of dawn

A cup of coffee I slowly sip

One of the muffins in my grip

How thoughtful of you to bring them for me

I’ll have the other one with tea

Greedily the muffin in my mouth I shove

As sweet as the muffin is your love
