PART 2

DIET AND DISEASE

Planning for Health and Recovery

Now that we have a fundamental understanding of the value of traditional, natural foods in the diet, in the second part of Primal Nutrition we will provide an overview of other important areas and questions to address in our search for good health. Specifically, we will review the role of the primary physician as it fits into our overall picture of a more holistically based regimen.

We will also review some well-known diets, each of which has proved helpful to many individuals. Some of these diets stress the importance of raw foods, and some make no mention of the issue. All are successful to varying degrees, however, we will see that the most successful have a deep understanding of the value of raw-food nutrients. After a review and analysis of these diets, we will then segue into a synthesis that will incorporate our several sources of knowledge of native foods into a plan you may use to begin creating your own best primal diet, suited to your own unique circumstances. Ideally that diet will evolve as your health evolves.

The last chapter in this second part of the book will review specific medical conditions, and discuss how the diet may impact these conditions in a positive, healing manner.
