Chapter Three

Demon

“You have to be fucking kidding me,” I said, staring at the empty bedroom. The little bitch ran. I should have known. With a shake of my head, I finished drying off and got dressed. She’d probably made her way back to her truck and headed to her motel room. I’d have to haul her ass right back.

I’d slipped my cut over my shoulders and grabbed my wallet when someone pounded on my front door. I hurried to open it only to find the Pres and VP waiting for me. Grizzly looked pissed, but Slash… he looked worried. A worried VP scared the fuck out of me. Not much ever bothered Slash.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

“Nox was assigned to the gate this morning,” Grizzly said. “He saw Farrah tear out of here like her ass was on fire, so he contacted me. I had to deal with something so I asked Slash to call her, see how bad you’d fucked up. Her phone’s ringing, but she won’t pick up.”

“She’s a little brat with her tail feathers in a knot,” I said. “I was on my way to go get her and drag her back here.”

Slash and Griz shared a look before the VP focused on me. “What exactly were you going to do when you got her here?”

“Handcuff her to the bed until she saw reason.”

Griz opened and shut his mouth. Before I could process what was happening, his fist flew at my face and clocked me right across the jaw. I staggered back a step and tried to shake the stars from my eyes.

“What the fuck, Pres?” I asked.

“She’s Venom’s daughter, not a fucking club whore. You’ll treat her with respect,” Grizzly said.

“Yeah well, she’s possibly carrying my kid, so I’ll do whatever I damn well deem necessary to keep her safe and talk some sense into her.”

Slash held up his hands and stepped back. “Nope, not going there. Of all the times for you to not wrap your dick. Jesus, Demon. Are you fucking stupid? Do you have any idea what Venom will do to you?”

“Not my concern right now,” I said. “I have a wayward brat to bring back.”

“She left the Reapers because her dad kept treating her like a kid,” Grizzly said. “You do the same and she’s not going to stay.”

“Then she shouldn’t have fucking run like a kid,” I said. “Not to mention she lied to me. Didn’t say a fucking word about who she was before she let me take her virginity, or after. It wasn’t until you called asking if I’d seen her I put two and two together. I hate fucking liars.”

“What did you do?” Slash asked.

“Spanked her ass and reminded her where she belonged.”

Grizzly cursed under his breath and looked up at the sky, as if needing divine intervention. “You’re a Goddamn moron, Demon. She’s probably well on her way to leaving the state by now.”

“We’ll see about that.” I gripped my keys and went out to my bike. The Pres and VP stuck close as we approached the gates and followed me out onto the streets. It seemed I was going to have an audience when I confronted Farrah.

I was beyond pissed by the time I reached the motel, until I saw her truck and noticed the room in front of it stood open. A purse and keys lay on the ground, and a feeling of dread filled me. I cut the engine to my bike and went to check it out. When I picked up the keys, I accidently hit the alarm button. Farrah’s truck beeped and the lights flashed until I shut it off.

“We’re so fucked,” Slash said, holding a small wallet in his hands, Farrah’s license on display in the little window.

“We have to call the Dixie Reapers,” Grizzly said. “Venom is no doubt on his way here already. I want Outlaw to pull any video feed from this area. We need to find out who took her and which way they were going. Maybe we’ll get lucky and find them if he can hack into the traffic cameras.”

I tightened my hold on her keys and scanned the area. Not a single fucking person was out, which wasn’t too strange for this time of day in this place. It was nighttime when everything came to life. The drug dealers, prostitutes, and other people making a buck however they could would fill this parking lot by the time night fell. But which one of them had taken Farrah, and why? And why the hell had she been staying here? Fuck! If I’d known I’d be tempted to keep her… It was too late to play the what if game. Letting some random pussy stay at this Godforsaken place was one thing, but not the woman I intended to claim.

Grizzly shoved me until I slammed against Farrah’s truck. “This is your fault! Dammit, Demon! You had to put your dick in her, didn’t you? Then you lost your fucking cool and let her have it. If anything happens to that girl, I’m going to gut you my own damn self.”

I swallowed hard, not wanting to admit he was right but… he was. It was my fault she’d run off. She could be safe right now, in my house, if I’d calmed the fuck down and talked to her. Listened to what she had to say.

“You won’t have to,” I said. No, if she’d been hurt, or God forbid, killed, because of my fucking temper, I’d make damn sure I couldn’t hurt anyone ever again. Whatever it took.

I heard the Pres talking to Outlaw and I took the time to scan the area again, looking for anything that might lead me to Farrah. I heard a phone ringing and Slash pulled one from Farrah’s purse. He showed me the screen. Rick. I took the phone and answered it.

“Who is this?” I demanded. “Why the fuck are you calling Farrah’s phone?”

“Because I need her to cover a shift tonight. I’m her boss.” There was a pause. “And you are?”

“Demon.”

The man muttered something I couldn’t quite catch. “She told me she was giving the Devil’s Fury a wide berth. Should have known the pull would be too strong. Is she coming back to work, or do you plan to keep her locked up at your compound?”

“Farrah is missing,” I said.

The line was silent a moment. I glanced at the screen to make sure the call was still connected.

“What happened?” Rick asked.

“I don’t know yet. Has she had any trouble at work? Any customers causing problems?”

“Not exactly, but there was a man making her uncomfortable. Said it felt like he was watching her,” Rick said. “It’s why I gave her last night off and let her work the lunch shift instead. Thought she needed a break. The man has been in lots of times with no issue, but I didn’t want her to not feel safe.”

She’d been worried, and this asshole’s solution was changing her shift for a day? What the hell? He should have asked the fucker to never come back. Still, if he’d followed her to the motel and knew where she was staying, it wouldn’t have mattered. He’d probably still have her right now.

“What can you tell me about the guy?” I asked.

“Never saw him, so I don’t know. The waitresses have dealt with him before. I’ll see if they remember anything useful. Listen, whatever I can do to help, let me know. Farrah’s a sweet kid. Always on time. Works hard. I hate to think of someone hurting her.”

He wasn’t the only one. I ended the call and paced the sidewalk. Slash and Grizzly ended their calls.

“It was her boss calling her phone. Said a customer was making her nervous. He didn’t know anything else, but he’s hoping the waitresses might remember something about the guy.” I ran a hand through my hair. “How long will it take Outlaw to find something?”

“Outlaw said since Farrah is technically Reapers’ property, he’s asking Wire to handle it. He didn’t want to step on any toes, and he’s right. I’m sure he’ll help if he’s needed, but Wire and Lavender can work faster,” Grizzly said.

“I called a friend at the local police department,” Slash said. “She’ll keep her eyes and ears open for any sign of Farrah, but I told her this was a club matter and we’d handle it.”

She? I eyed Slash. He’d never gone for the ballsy sort, so I didn’t think the woman was a love interest. Still, I found it interesting he had a connection to the police and hadn’t said a damn thing before now. Either it was a new thing or he was keeping shit to himself.

Griz’s phone rang and he winced, which told me it was most likely Venom. I didn’t have a single doubt the man would try to put me on my ass, and I’d have to let him. I’d fucked up. Not only had I possibly knocked up his kid, but I’d chased her off and now she was in danger. Being fourteen years younger, I had no doubt I could take him, but it was his right to put me in my place. Once, anyway.

Instead of listening to the conversation, I walked the area again. I didn’t see signs of any cameras in or around the parking lot. There was one over the motel office door, but the way it was angled meant it only tracked who was coming and going from the lobby. Wouldn’t be of much use to me right now.

I saw a curtain flicker and glanced over. A woman quickly yanked the material back over the window, but now I had to wonder if she’d seen or heard something. I went over to knock on the door and waited for her to open it. The chain remained across the top, only allowing her to open it a crack.

“What do you want?” she asked.

“My woman got snatched from this parking lot earlier. You hear or see anything?”

She frantically shook her head and started to slam the door, but I put my boot up, halting it. I reached for my wallet and pulled out a twenty. She eyed the money, a hungry gleam in her eyes. She reached through and ripped it from my hand.

“Heard something a little while ago. I ain’t no snitch, though.” Her gaze darted around the parking lot. I understood her concern. People in this part of town, especially this motel, didn’t take kindly to those who ran their mouths. “Man took your girl. Name’s Earl and I ain’t sayin’ nothing else.”

I let her slam the door and went to tell Grizzly and Slash what I’d discovered. Earl wasn’t a lot to go on, but it would give Wire and Lavender at least a crumb to work with. Something was better than nothing.

“What did the whore say?” Slash asked.

“Man named Earl took Farrah. She wouldn’t say anything else. Too scared.”

Slash nodded. Grizzly shot off a text to someone and I figured he was imparting the name to Wire or Outlaw. Maybe both. Hell, I’d take whatever help I could get at this point. The more people searching for Farrah, the better the chances we’d find her before something bad happened. Being kidnapped was horrible enough, but if the man put his hands on her, or worse, I’d fucking kill him. Assuming Venom didn’t beat me to it.

I got on my bike, ready to get back to the compound. No sense in sitting around the motel lot. It wasn’t like the man would bring Farrah back. She might be a pain in the ass, but with the wrong sort of man, it would only get her killed. I heard the Pres and VP follow me out of the lot. I didn’t know how long it would take Venom to arrive, or who he’d bring with him. As much as I didn’t look forward to seeing him, we needed more men to help find Farrah. I’d call in every favor I had if I thought it would make a difference.

Was she scared? Hurt?

My gut clenched when I thought of all the things the bastard, Earl, could do to her. I’d seen enough shit my imagination ran wild. Wouldn’t be the first time one of our women got hurt in the worst way possible, but I fucking hated it. And yeah, Farrah was mine. She might not admit it, and her daddy damn sure wouldn’t, but it didn’t change a thing. I’d claimed her virginity, filled her with my cum, and I’d be damned if I let her walk away.

The moment I’d seen her, I’d known there was something different about her. I might not have thought about keeping her at the time, but the moment I’d felt her tight pussy wrapped around my dick, I’d known once would never be enough. Hell, all night wasn’t enough. I’d planned to keep her in bed all day, until the Pres called and I’d realized who she was. Pissed hadn’t begun to describe how I’d felt. I could have handled it better. Should have.

I stopped at the clubhouse and went inside for a cold beer. I’d have preferred something stronger about now, but I knew I needed to keep a clear head. Farrah needed me. I’d failed her once. I sure the fuck wouldn’t do it again.

Grizzly hadn’t called Church, which meant he wasn’t telling everyone about Farrah. Not yet at any rate. I didn’t know if he wanted to wait for Venom, or if he hoped she’d magically appear all on her own. He’d said he’d been busy earlier. I hadn’t asked with what and I honestly didn’t give a shit. If it had been club business, he’d have told me. Assuming I needed to know.

“You’re quieter than usual,” Dingo said, sliding onto the stool next to me. “Shouldn’t you be busting heads or something?”

“Only head needs busting right now is mine. Fucked up. Bad.”

He shrugged. “Can’t be all bad. Grizzly hasn’t ripped you apart.”

“Think he’s waiting to let Venom do it.” I glanced at him. “Slept with Farrah but didn’t realize she was a Reaper’s kid.”

He nodded as if it made all the sense in the world, which meant he’d already heard something. Did the club already know what I’d done? Were they aware she was missing? I glanced around the room and noticed nearly everyone was present. It wasn’t a common sight, especially in the morning.

“Grizzly sent out a mass text to everyone,” Dingo said. “He left out the part of you fucking up, in case you wondered. We know Venom is coming and his daughter is missing.”

“Chased her off by being the bastard I am. Should have done better.”

“So she was a notch on your bedpost and nothing more?” he asked. I glowered at him and he grinned. “Didn’t think so. You acted like a caveman, didn’t you? Barked orders at her and expected her to obey.”

“Maybe.”

He snorted. Yeah, there was no maybe about it. I’d done exactly what he’d said and look how it turned out. Had I been too damn hard on her? I didn’t understand why she’d run. She had to see I was trying to do the right thing. There was no fucking way I’d let her leave if she had my kid in her belly. She’d been around a club her entire life. We might not be the Dixie Reapers, but Griz ran things close enough to the way Torch handled shit for her to have an idea of how this all worked. Had she been so sheltered she didn’t realize what I’d been trying to do?

“The Reapers should be here soon. You up for facing her daddy?” Dingo asked.

“Not like I have a choice.”

“We should probably have the med kit handy. I have a feeling he’s going to tear you apart. Not only did you deflower his precious daughter, but you scared her off. Now she’s gone and he’s mostly likely losing his damn mind.”

“I know the feeling,” I muttered. When I got Farrah back, we needed to have a talk. Obviously, I’d terrified her, or pissed her off. Whatever I’d said to make her run, it seemed like I needed to clarify a few things. We weren’t on the same page, and we needed to be. She’d stayed in my bed all night. No woman had ever stayed the night. Hell, I didn’t take them back to my house, but she’d been different. I needed her to understand I wasn’t letting her go. Not now, not ever. She was mine, plain and simple.

I’ll find you, Farrah, and I’ll bring you home where you belong.
