Relocating DCI Emma Gardner to North Yorkshire has been challenging and exciting, and certainly something I couldn’t have done without my extensive support network.

Thank you, Emily Ruston for seeing the potential in The Yorkshire Murders, and offering your valuable advice on delivering Gardner and Riddick’s emotional journey. Also, Boldwood Books, who have been outstanding in their support from the first second.

Massive gratitude to my family, who support all of my ambitions, and keep me laughing throughout the most intensive moments of putting together these narratives.

I am grateful to every reader who has taken the time to read my work and listen to my stories, and to the amazing bloggers who have done so much to help me along this journey.

I'd also like to extend my appreciation to my esteemed colleagues at Delta Academies Trust, who work tirelessly to improve the education for the young people in the north of England, and remain forever supportive of me in both of my professions; Paul, Andy, Jane, Ray, Sarah, Becky, Fiona, Sarah, Claire, Paul, Catherine, Helen and Becky.

Lastly, thank you Knaresborough, for being a mysterious, captivating little town that offers me both a wonderful home, and a setting for these intriguing little tales.
