Uncle Ping introduced them.
“Weng used to bring his father to hear me sing.”
Cherry smiled. “Did he have a favorite?”
“‘Blue Flowers,’” Weng said.
Cherry said she’d heard of it. “It’s one of the old ones, right?”
“But one of the best,” her uncle added. “Quite sentimental.”
Weng said it was also his mother’s favorite.
Cherry nodded. “Then I understand why it’s special.”
