There is a wide variety of drawing pencils, apart from graphite pencils, that feature different intensities and colors. Some, like the black pencil, are drier than other colored pencils and, therefore, produce a finer line.
Once the animal’s outline is drawn, erase as much of the guidelines as possible and add some patterns to the body.
With fine hatching, shade in gray areas, which will create more depth.
As you gradually darken more areas of the coat by adding new hatch layers, make sure to keep a few lighter parts, too.
Finish by adding more details on the hooves, eyes, and ears, as well as on the upper side of the coat.
