Fish Peera
Coconut Fish Scramble
Recipe:
Prep: Mix 250g boneless fish
,1/4tsp each (salt, turmeric, ginger-garlic
paste, tamarind paste
)
Crush & knead with hands 1/2C fresh grated coconut
, 1/4C sliced shallots
, 1/2tsp (cumin, pepper, red chilli
) powders, 1/8tsp turmeric
, 15 curry leaves
In a 2L Magic pot deluxe
layer as below,
- 2Tbsp coconut
oil, 1tbsp water
, 10 curry leaves
- Spiced fish
- Spiced coconut
Cook on high for 3 whistles / 4 mins
Release pressure. Open, scramble the fish pieces.Mix in 1Tbsp bottled tadka
& serve.
Replace / supplement:
Tamarind with lime
Chilli powder with chilli flakes
Tips:
Boneless anchovies are more preferred
The crunchy bite of shallots is retained by not grinding / pulsing before cooking
Can keep coconut in PIP if using less buffer (fish)
Make sure the spiced coconut does not touch the base of Magic pot
