Mutton Haleem
Dal and Wheat Grits Cooked along with Mutton Mince into a Meal
Recipe:
Prep: soak 1/4C each (fine wheat grits, mung dal
) for 6 hours or preferably overnight & drain
In a 2L Magic pot
layer as below,
Soaked and drained fine wheat grits
, mung dal
, 1/4C mutton mince
,1/4C each chopped (carrot, beans, onions, tomato
), 1 each (green chilly, bay leaf
), 1” stick cinnamon
, 1Tbsp ghee
, 1tsp ginger-garlic
paste, 1/2tsp garam masala
, 1.5C water
Cook on high for 6 whistles / 8 mins
Let the pressure settle
Open, remove bay leaf
, cinnamon
& blend coarsely.
Serve with lime
wedges, ginger
juliennes,
chopped green chillies & fried onion.
Replace / supplement:
Mutton mince with chicken
Dal with any other variety dal
Water with meat stock
Tips:
Use fine wheat grits so that it cooks faster
Can increase / decrease the ratio of meat / grits used
