Spicy Tofu Steaks

Meat lovers aren’t the only ones who know how to enjoy a steak. Use a basic steak rub here on these tofu treats and enjoy many of the flavors of a spicy grilled steak without the fat and worry. Serve with one of the side dishes found in the Sensible Sides chapter.
Makes 4 Servings
Ingredients
1 14-ounce package of extra-firm tofu
Peanut oil, as needed
2 tablespoons pre-made spicy steak rub
Directions
Step 1: Cut tofu lengthwise into 4 slices and pat dry with paper towel. Cut each slice in half diagonally, making 8 triangles. Set aside at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Step 2: Heat grill to medium-high and lightly cover with peanut oil. While the grill pan heats, coat the tofu with the steak rub. Grill tofu until lightly browned, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Remove from heat and serve.
