AFTERWORD

Beyond Millions

Thank you for reading this book. My hope is that the Prosperity Principles have helped you begin your journey toward reaching your financial goals—and any goals you might have for your life.

Here's something I learned along the way that surprised me. My first big goal was to become debt-free, and I achieved that in three and a half years (versus the twenty-eight years I was told it would take). Then I set a goal to save a certain amount of money in my savings account, and I achieved that far more quickly than I would have guessed. Then I made another monetary goal and reached it. And then another monetary goal and reached it. And another, and another, and then . . . well, the truth is I got dissatisfied with goals that were only financial in nature.

If you had told me when I was nearly $60,000 in debt that I would eventually have enough money and be doing so well that reaching monetary goals would begin to lose their meaning, I'm not sure I would have believed it. Remember that with goals, I like to attach a meaning to them, which gives them extra “charge.”

Please understand that I was (and am) grateful for all of the monetary goals that I made and reached. But after a while I needed to find new goals, ones that fulfilled other needs or desires in my life. So my goals evolved as I evolved. That's when I discovered that the principles in this book work for anything you desire.

Let me repeat something I wrote at the beginning of this book:

For me, getting out of financial peril and into financial abundance was paramount. My financial situation was so difficult that nearly everything else took a back seat to it. I thought about it every day, because every day I either had to find ways to pay bills or worry about how I was going to pay my rent and buy food. So when I discovered these Prosperity Principles (in all their various forms), it felt like the universe had thrown me a lifeline.

I used the Prosperity Principles and my situation changed from dangerous to barely making it, to uncomfortable but okay, to having just a little more than nothing, to having a little extra, to having quite a bit extra, to living in comfort, and beyond. When I started this journey, I was in a financial emergency, so my goals were all financial. Eventually, though, once I moved into a place where my finances were growing and I felt good, I wanted to use the Prosperity Principles in other ways, for other things. And not just “things” but for experiences and qualities as well: travel, adventure, creative outlets, love, health, peace, joy, and more.

My greatest hope for you is that you use the Prosperity Principles for whatever it is you most desire in your life. If you have financial needs, then use them to reach your financial goals. Use the Prosperity Principles for anything else you want as well. They are principles for life, a creative formula to use as you wish. We are all 100 percent responsible for our own lives, so what you do and how you live matters. You are important. Positive action creates positive results. May your future be prosperous!
