THE STAGE
Marty moves across the stage talking to a WOMAN sitting in a chair with her back to the audience.
MARTY: So, what are we talking about? A defeated man, really. A man with questions, mistakes, a man tortured by fear and the possibility of the unknown. But yet here he is, standing at the edge of the stage with his whole life ahead of him. His past and what he has been through just behind him on the other side of the curtain, and what lies beyond the audience, the lights, and through the doors out onto the streets that lead to the rest of the world… He hears a loud explosion… Hark! I hear the cannons roar.
WOMAN: Great, we’ll let you know.
MARTY: I have another version of that I could do if you’d like to see something different.
WOMAN: No, really, it’s fine. We’ll let you know.
Marty waits, takes a bow, and heads offstage.
