Tony’s Books

Thank you for reading THE SPOLDING CONUNDRUM. Reviews are very important for authors and I wonder if I could ask you to say a few words on the review page where you bought this book. Every review, even if it is only a few words with a star rating, helps the book move up the rankings.

Currently, I have written ten science fiction stories. Federation, Federation and Earth and Hidden Federation make up my Federation trilogy. Moonscape is the first in this series followed by Moonstruck and Trappist-1. My other books are all stand-alone novels; Mindslip, which gets the best reviews, The Visitor, which was my first bestseller and The Door which was a fun look at the future, as influenced by a man walking a dog.

More detail about each of the books can be found on Harmsworth.net. Brief descriptions follow:

THE DOOR Henry Mackay and his dog regularly walk alongside an ancient convent wall. Today, as he passes the door, he glances at its peeling paint. Moments later he stops dead in his tracks. He returns to the spot, and all he sees is an ivy-covered wall. The door has vanished!

FEDERATION takes close encounters to a whole new level. A galactic empire of a quarter of a million worlds stumbles across the Earth. With elements of a political thriller, there is an intriguing storyline which addresses the environmental and social problems faced by the world today.

FEDERATION & EARTH Book two in the Federation trilogy.

After the dramatic and unexpected turn of events at the end of the first book, Earth is left with several factions trying to resolve the situation. The new president of the USA is trying to secure his hold on power, while a new group who have named themselves FREE AMERICA, is trying to overthrow what it considers an illegitimate regime.

HIDDEN FEDERATION The conclusion to the Federation trilogy. How will it all end? Space battles, revolution and civil war – we learn how the Federation steered its way from disaster to utopia.

THE FEDERATION TRILOGY – all three books are now available as audiobooks narrated, or rather, brought to life by Marni Penning.

MINDSLIP Those who have read this book say that it is, by far and away, my best work. For some reason, however, it does not sell well mainly because it is difficult to categorise. It has been described as Wyndhamesque. Is it psychological SF or is it science fiction at all? Whatever the case, if you start it, you won’t be able to put it down.

MINDSLIP is also now a fantastic audiobook narrated by Kym Miller and David Sweeney-Bear. Well worth listening to even if you have already read it.

MOONSCAPE We’ve known that the moon is dead since Apollo. But what if something lay dormant in the dust, waiting to be found?

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

MOONSTRUCK The sequel to MOONSCAPE takes us back to the moon where one existential threat is replaced by another.

TRAPPIST-1 A new scientific discovery, spolding, paves the way to interstellar travel. The Trappist-1 star system is the first destination. Things do not go according to plan!

∞∞∞∞∞∞∞

THE VISITOR Specialist astronaut Evelyn Slater encounters a small, badly damaged, ancient, alien artefact on the first ever space-junk elimination mission. Where was it from? Who sent it?

THE VISITOR is now also an exciting audiobook narrated by Marni Penning.
