I wake up early, the sun isn’t even out yet, and Rage is wrapped around me. We made love all night, different from what we usually do, which is fucking. I know the difference. Rage was just happy he finally found me after being away from me for so long. It’s been a long few weeks, and I have to wonder how much I missed while I was gone.
Getting out of bed, I look outside and see there is barely anyone here, and smile. Maybe this is a good time to leave, while everyone is gone. I would hate to walk out of this room and see all the people that want me dead. I know now, after this, I’ll never be able to come back state side, because they would kill me without hesitation.
If I had just told Hush the first time we talked about what my brother was up to, all of this could have been avoided. But life has a way of making it all work out, and in the end, it brought me to Rage.
“Morning already?” Rage’s voice is husky in the morning and I smile.
“Yeah, not quite.”
“That’s fine, we need to get on the road anyway, I’m hoping between the two of us taking turns driving, we can get home quicker than it took me to get here.” I smile at that, it seems like it could work and Rage isn’t one of those men that is all, ‘women can’t drive if I’m in the car.’ I hate those men. Arrogant jackasses.
“Ok, I’ll pack up our things.” I tell him and move to my suitcase. I didn’t use much of this while I was here, but mostly because it’s trashy outfits, something I’ll need to get rid of when I get home. I wonder if any of the girls in the apartments could fit into this stuff. “Ready,” I finally say once my suitcase is zipped. I slip on a jacket and lean against the window, waiting for Rage to get ready himself.
“Ready,” he grumbles out, he’s still half asleep so it looks like I might be driving the first leg of the day. Which is fine with me, I’ve had more than enough sleep the last few days. Being locked in a room with nothing to do but sleep and stare out a window will do that to a person.
“Let’s get on the road then,” I say happily and I smack his ass. The look on his face is priceless.
“You’ll pay for that.” He comes to me, giving me a scorching kiss and we head on out.

TWO DAYS AND ONE ACTUAL rest stop later, we’re across the border and only an hour away from being home. My legs are killing me, and so is my ass from sitting in this truck for so long. During our one rest stop for a few hours, I deposited the cheque the lawyer gave me into a joint account that Rage had, apparently, set up.
He told me, at first, to just put it in mine and save it for if I ever wanted something crazy, but I figured if we’re going to have a huge wedding and be together forever, why not transfer all my money to this joint account, including the four million I got from my brother.
Rage was shocked at the amount I managed to save from the diner and working for the club, on top of the money from my brother. So, to say our accounts are extremely padded is putting it mildly. Because Rage had millions in there already.
I could spoil Rage’s kids every single day for the rest of their lives, and we wouldn’t even make a dent in that account.
“You ready to be home?” Rage asks, his hand on my leg gives me a squeeze.
“Yeah, I’m ready to sleep in my own bed, have a shower, and then deal with the fallout of what’s happening in our lives.”
“Babe,” is all he says, but it tells me nothing.
“When is my consult for the breast reduction?”
“Wiz said it’s happening three days from now. So, Thursday?”
I nod, “Good.” I look down at myself and smile. Soon, I won’t have the reminder of my past on my body anymore. It will be a fresh start.
Sitting back, I turn on the radio and it fills the truck with sound, something that helps lift both our moods. I have a feeling Hangman isn’t going to be happy with me, and I have to prepare for that. I look to Rage and see his knuckles white on the steering wheel.
“Are you okay?” I ask him.
“No, not really, Hangman isn’t gonna be happy with what you did, and he might seek retribution. But Justine wouldn’t follow through with it and none of the other members except the older ones, have old ladies.”
“What do you mean?” I ask him confused.
“When an Old Lady takes off it’s up to the other Old Ladies in the club to teach her a lesson, it’s usually getting beat to a pulp, but with Justine running the show these days, and she likes you, I doubt she’ll teach you a lesson at all. Instead, she might just get you drunk.”
I laugh at that; I can see it. I doubt Justine would try and fight me anyway, no matter what Hangman says, she’s too much of an independent woman for that mess.
“Let’s just get home and go from there, I’m ready for whatever comes my way.”
“Good.”
After that, we drive home in silence, I can’t wait to see Rage’s kids, I’ve missed them so much.
