In addition to holding a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing, Mary Anna Evans holds a bachelor of science in engineering physics and a master of science in chemical engineering, and she is a licensed professional engineer. All of these things came in quite handy while writing The Physicists’ Daughter. She is also the author of the Faye Longchamp Archaeological Mysteries, which have received awards including the Oklahoma Book Award, the Benjamin Franklin Award, and a Will Rogers Medallion Awards Gold Medal. Her essays on science and the environment have appeared in publications including the Atlantic’s Technology Channel, EarthLines, and Flyway. She is an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma, where she teaches fiction and nonfiction writing, and she studies the work of Agatha Christie. She is the coeditor of Bloomsbury Handbook to Agatha Christie, to be released in late 2022.
