MULTI TIER ARRANGEMENTS
NARROW LEDGE ARRANGEMENT WITH
Ranunculus

Narrow ledges are fresh and modern, and the most popular cake style at Petalsweet. Generally, the narrow ledges lend themselves to smaller flowers, delicate arrangements and flowers that are shaped flat or open, but they are also perfect for a single cupped round flower surrounded by a handful of fillers and a few leaves tucked in at the base. The options are endless and always stylish. If you do use larger flowers, be sure they are anchored well into the cake to prevent any shifting or tearing.

TO CREATE THE RANUNCULUS ARRANGEMENT YOU WILL NEED

CAKE TIERS

FOCAL FLOWERS

FILLER FLOWERS, BUDS AND LEAVES

1. Prepare the cake tiers, then add the ribbon (see Finishing Touches).

2. Position the two ranunculus flowers next to each other slightly offset to one side. The larger flower is the main focus, and the smaller flower is tucked slightly behind it.

3. Gently press some small balls of extra fondant on the ledge around the base of the flowers to insert the fillers and leaves. Fill in the spaces around and in between the ranunculus flowers with the hydrangea and buds. Tuck the two sweet pea leaves into the right side of the smaller flower.

4. Finish by layering the filler flowers over the hydrangea and buds, filling in any small gaps.
