SEVENTH SONG

For the Resurrection of Christ. From this seed:

“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.”

Who can separate me from your love?

Can I grow weary of this mystical flame?strange, eerie

May the whole world be gone!

I will live in you,

O Jesus!

Lead me with you on the mountain path to the cross.

I am happy to live above the mountain.

I will cast away the vale’s dust.

Your death is life for me,

Your bile is like sweets for me,

O Jesus!

Your grave sores are – my sign,

Your thorny crown to me – glory’s grace [divine],

This Cross that you bear

Is praise and honor for me,

O Jesus!

If a grain of wheat were to rot in the fields.

If the outside is not alive, a new fruit will bloom inside.

Into a single old ear of wheat

In the coming summer time of heat [acute]

the hundred-year-old grain will bear fruit.

Crucify my body, nail it to the cross.

Let me not be whole without so I can be reborn within.

Let my external self wither away!

And a new inner self blossom [today].

This is a living death.

O my new Adam! O most beautiful Son!

O universal shame! O rebellions of Athens!

Underneath your rebellion is – the light!

Underneath death — eternal life [in sight].

Until the shroud is dark!

The End.
