SIXTEENTH SONG

According to this virtue:

“I do set my [rain]bow in the cloud.” (Genesis 9:13)

Clouds passed. A joyful rainbow shines.

All longing has passed. Our light glimmers [divine].

The heart’s merriment is the pure light of radiant sky,

If the gloom and rustling of the world’s wind have passed by.

O delightful world! To me you are an ocean, an abyss.

You are gloom, clouds, a whirlwind, longing, woe.

This beautiful rainbow lights up the radiant sky for me,

A heartfelt dove tells me of peace [in its glow].

Farewell, sadness! Farewell, farewell, wicked belly!

I have stood up on my feet, been resurrected from the grave.

O David’s branch!

You are my shore and safe harbor [that saves],

You are a rainbow, life,

radiant sky for me, light, peace, and an olive branch.

The End.
