“Remember your end, and you will not sin.” “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
Set your gaze out to the distance and the wise rays of light.
And always remember the ultimate end.
Will the arrow strike at
the certain target of all your matters?
Observing the limit of all your desires,
On what foundation have you built your home?
If on stone, the house will remain whole.
If on sand, stand in a chorus with you and yours,
For a whirlwind will sweep it from the face of the earth.
All flesh is sand and all glory worldly,
All its sweetness becomes loathsome.
Love the narrow path. Avoid the common custom.
May your Lord be joined with David,
If you need to return to Zion,
Then why must you descend to the world?
The path to Jericho is dangerous.
Live in the city that is mother to us all.
If you have taken this road,
May God more quickly obstruct the path!
For you know that having descended into a great abyss,
Our mind will give no joy to us in the abyss of evils.
O you! Who are of the same spirit
And whose number of years does not diminish,
You, knead in us the spirit of the good thief!
Let your storm destroy the net.
The End.
