With a mischievous grin, the woman rocks onto her back, clasping her ankles in each of her hands as she raises her feet. The man crouches like a monkey between her legs. He slaps and kisses her breasts playfully as he penetrates her. If the woman is stimulated enough, happy monkeys can play in the “fountain of life energy” (see the Historical Fact in #3).
The Kama Sutra invites a sense of play. Sex is a great stress release, as is laughter. There are many animal positions in the Kama Sutra and these remind us to let ourselves relax and let go with our animal instincts. Playful positions, such as the light slapping antics of the monkey, remind us to have fun and not take life—or sex—too seriously. When exploring animal positions, inhibitions are to be checked at the door.
Monkeys are curious creatures and fun to mimic in the bedroom. Explore each other’s bodies by tickling or play-wrestling with each other. Surely monkeys would wonder what a vibrator or dildo might do, so have some fun exploring with these in places such as the armpits, thighs, scrotum, lingam, breasts, and yoni. Throwing pillows and playing with rope can be fun, too.
