Garlic Pear Seasoning Paste  
Makes 1½ cups     10 minutes
Fresh pears add a light sweetness to this light summer time seasoning paste. Perfect for summer, but great any time of year when you can find fresh pears. Remove any seeds that will add bitterness to the blend.
1 onion, cut into quarters
12 cloves garlic, peeled
4 pears, peeled and cut into large chunks
1 ounce (¼ cup) fresh ginger, peeled and cut into chunks
¼ cup olive oil
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  1. Using a blender, add the onion quarters, garlic cloves, pear chunks, ginger chunks, olive oil, and apple cider vinegar.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Use to baste or marinate meat for a sweet Asian flavor.
  4. Store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
