Miguel
Standing on the outskirts of the living room with Ora watching Emily, is heart-breaking for both of us.
“Miguel, we have to do something for her she’s not getting better. I think she may be slipping past the point of no return. She won’t let him go and she lives as if he will walk back through the front door any day now.”
“Trust me Ora, I have watched her also. It breaks my heart every night that we put her to bed and she clings to my shirt like it’s a lifeline. If the roles were reversed he would have done moved on in some form, I’m not saying he would have remarried but he would be dating. “Ora, you know how all this came to be and I don’t know if I want to continue on with it.”
“Ora, I can’t be her Blake every night after night two years is a lot of nights of holding her close as she cries in her sleep for something she can’t have anymore. I have a gift for her Blake told me I’d know when to give it to her and I think it’s time to do it. I’ll need your help to pull it off though.”
“Miguel, when all this started unfolding I never expected you to stay so close. He was your best friend, your business partner, and your boss all rolled up in one. You let the love of your life go to keep your best friend. She’s not the only one who needs to let go of the past and move forward. As for helping you with something just tell me what to do and I’ll do it, anything to bring my dear girl back.”
“Ora, I have moved on from the past you have seen the revolving door to my house. As for our girl in there she’s going to be leaving in the morning for a trip. Blake was afraid she would shut out the world and become the old her who set a goal and strived to accomplish it with no thought to herself. We are going to show her there is still plenty of happiness ahead of her if she just let’s go. So, if you could start packing for her she’ll need plenty of swimsuits and clothing for warm weather. This trip is for at least two weeks, but if she wants it to extend it can be accommodated. No one can go to the Bahamas and not enjoy themselves. I’ve worked on this all week, I have her days filled with once in a lifetime adventures that are sure to put a true smile back on her pretty face.”
“I’ll start packing for her tonight. Are you sure that she’ll go? We’ve watched her for two years now and she never goes out no matter what the invitations say on them.”
“Ora, don’t stress over this okay! If I have learned anything in the past thirteen years of my life, it’s Emily Marie Shaw, I can almost tell you what she will wear on any given day. Once she gets the letter she’ll do what ‘Blake’ tells her to do because she will want to please him.”
