The Mothers’ Bridge of Love (MBL) is a UK-registered charity (registration number 1105543), set up by Xinran and a group of volunteers in 2004. MBL’s aim is to provide Chinese cultural support to children in all corners of the world, by creating a bridge of understanding between China and the West and between birth and adoptive cultures, as well as helping education in rural China.
After ten years MBL’s achievements include providing assistance, advice and educational activities for adoptive families around the world, supporting a number of disaster relief projects and building 15 libraries for children of migrant workers and children living in China’s rural countryside. Now MBL invites Xinran’s readers and families from all over the world to support MBL in creating more reading opportunities for children in rural China.
