LOVE

Implicit in God’s great love for each of His people is the promise that He will never stop loving you, that you can do nothing to make Him love you more or less. God’s love was clearly revealed in the sacrificial love that His only Son, Jesus Christ, demonstrated on the cross. Such self-sacrificial love is to characterize the love we believers have for one another. Such a lifestyle of love blesses those you come in contact with, attracts them to Jesus, and honors God.

Whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

1 JOHN 2:5

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

1 JOHN 4:7–9

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

1 JOHN 5:1–4

Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
