“The Plough Boy”

KATE DOUGLAS WIGGIN AND NORA ARCHIBALD SMITH

With the right mind-set, a hard day’s work and a good night’s sleep can be just as rewarding as a day of play.

Where winds blow pure and freely,

And blossoms load the air,

And green leaves wave their leafy boughs

And all around looks fair;

I ply my daily labor,

And work till night has come,

And then return contented

To rest myself at home.
