Willow and Embry created their own rumaki using a simple combination of bacon, water chestnuts, and pineapple. Dipped in their homemade ginger sauce, these little bites can’t be beat at a party.
Reserved pineapple juice
¼ cup soy sauce
1/8 cup rice wine vinegar
1/8 cup white wine
¾ cup brown sugar
2 TBS cornstarch
1 ½ tsp ginger
¼ tsp salt
Mix cornstarch, pineapple juice, and soy sauce. Add remaining ingredients. Cook until thick and bubbly, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool slightly. If making ahead, cover sauce with plastic wrap to keep a film from developing. Serve with rumaki or ham.
