The Origins of United States Ship Athena, Patrol Coastal 15

Patrol coastals 1–14 were named after phenomena of the weather— Cyclone, Whirlwind, Firebolt, Typhoon, etc.—but not 15, the Athena. She was of a different design, one of a kind, and, like her namesake, the first and last of her class.
