First: I must accept that I am a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Second: I must know that as a sinner, I owe a penalty. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).
Third: I must believe that Jesus Christ has already paid the debt for my sin debt “For when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:6).
Fourth: I must receive by faith what Jesus Christ has done for me. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God” (John 1:12).
I receive Jesus Christ by prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me. I am willing to turn away from my sins and receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord. In Jesus’s Name, amen.
