I wrote this book for the glory of God and for the benefit of my neighbor. God has given me the ability, means, and desire to tell stories, and my neighbor (that’s you) gives me the reason to write them down and share them. To God alone be the glory.

My husband Larry supplies me with coffee, Coca-Cola, and the money to buy research books that I can’t find through our local library. He also gives me his support and encouragement, and takes the kids on long walks now and then so I can write. My children give me hugs and kisses and the most appreciative audience an author could ask for. Thank you, all of you!

Deborah Koren is more than my best friend, more than my writing mentor, more than my chaperone through the wilderness of words. If not for her, I would have gotten lost somewhere along the line, and this story would have remained a tangled mess. Thank you! I am loving your work, cowboy.

I owe a debt of gratitude to my sensitivity readers, Lola and Tracy. Thank you for the wisdom and knowledge you both shared with me. Thank you for reading my book and answering my questions. Beggar that I am, I am even poor in thanks; but I thank you, ladies!

Erika Ohlendorf takes the essence of my books and turns them into art. Her covers are better than my words deserve. Thank you, sister!

And to my beta-readers and proofreaders, I give a thousand thanks and hugs! Olivia, Eva-Joy, Katie, Heidi, Beverly, Sam, Sadie, and Abby, you all helped me so much!

Finally, thank YOU, reader, for reading my books. Thank you for sharing them with your friends and family. Thank you for writing me to tell me what you think of them and what fairy tales you hope I retell next. You make me happy!
