Braided Bun

This Braided Bun is a pretty updo that looks more complicated than it actually is, which is perfect for those times when you want to impress! It is made up of three regular braids all wrapped together so there isn’t any tricky braiding at all. This lovely ’do is perfect for the office, for a formal night out, or even just for fun! So, let’s get to it.

MATERIALS

  1. Brush through the hair to remove any tangles then part the hair either in the middle or on the side; either works fine. Pick up the section of hair from the part down to the left ear. Braid the section into a regular braid and tie off the end with a clear elastic band.

  2. Create a second braid on the right side, using the hair from the part down to the right ear. Tie off this braid with another clear elastic band.

  3. Create a third braid with the remaining hair and tie off the end with a third clear elastic band.

  4. Wrap the bottommost braid into a bun and pin down the end with a bobby pin. Slide the pin under the bun so it stays out of view.

  5. Pick up the right-side braid, lay it over the top of the bun, and wrap it counter-clockwise around the bun, pinning down the end with a bobby pin.

  6. Now wrap the left-side braid over and then clockwise around the bun, pinning down the end. Set the style with hairspray to ensure that it stays in place.

UPDO EXTRAS

After braiding each section, spray the braid with hairspray and slide a hand down the braid to smooth any stray hairs. Feel free to use as many pins as you need to ensure that the style is tight and won’t fall out during the day.
