Twisted Headband

A modern version of the traditional Milkmaid Braids, this twisted ’do is ten times easier to do than that old favorite because there’s not a braid in sight. Instead, this trendy Twisted Headband is created with two twisted sections, crossed over the head for a fun new spin. Let’s get twisting!

MATERIALS
- Wide-tooth comb
- 2–5 bobby pins
- Maximum-hold hairspray
- Comb through the hair before creating a part down the center of the back of the head, dividing the hair into two halves.

- Take the left section and twist all the hair together upwards.

- Lay the twist over the top of the head and pin it down with bobby pins. Be sure to pin down the very ends so they lie flat on top of the head.

- Repeat the previous two steps with the hair on the right side of the head. Lay the second twist over the end of the first twist, creating an “X” pattern. Then tuck the end of the second twist under the first one. Tucking the ends under the opposite twist will not only hide them but help make it look like one continuous twist. Then, mist the entire style with hairspray and gently smooth over any stray hairs.

UPDO EXTRAS
To ensure the style stays secure all day long, slide in pins along the entire twist; three or four should work perfectly.
