Twisted Mohawk

A super simple style that takes mere minutes to do, this Twisted Mohawk is perfect on second-day hair, especially if you have some leftover curls. Once you see how easy it is, you will wonder why you haven’t tried it before!

MATERIALS

  1. Separate off a section of hair, from the temples towards the top of the head. Spray the hair with hairspray and comb through it to ensure that it’s smooth. Tie off this section with a clear elastic band.

  2. Twist the tail and wrap it around itself into a bun, placing it directly over the clear elastic band. Pin it down with bobby pins, sliding them into the bun. Spray the bun with hairspray and smooth a hand over it to lay down any stray hairs.

  3. Pick up a new section of hair at the top of the ears, bringing it towards the back of the head. Spray the hair with hairspray and comb through it to ensure that it’s smooth. Tie off this section with a clear elastic band.

  4. Twist the tail and wrap it around itself into a bun, placing it directly over the clear elastic band. Pin it down with bobby pins, sliding them into the bun. Spray the bun with hairspray and smooth a hand over it to lay down any stray hairs.

  5. Sweep the remaining hair up into one more clear elastic band near the nape of the neck. Spray the tail with hairspray and comb through it to ensure that this last bun is smooth. Wrap the hair into a third bun, securing it with pins. Finish by misting the style with hairspray and flattening any stray hairs.

UPDO EXTRAS

Place each hair elastic close to the previous one to ensure there aren’t any gaps between the buns. Once the buns have been created, gently pull on the edges of the buns to make them appear fuller.
