CHAPTER 18

FINAL WORDS FROM CHARLES HAANEL

We never reach a point in our lives where we don’t need to continue manifesting the world we need in each new moment. It’s an ongoing daily process. Even if you reach the point spiritually where you have few material desires or emotional yearnings and feel satisfied deep down, you’ll still want to return to the Silence for insight and wisdom, as well as the power to broadcast positive healing vibes out into the world as your ongoing gift and contribution. So, one more time: Be sure to make the process of tapping into your manifestation Source a new essential habit in your daily routine.

I’ve now come to the end of what I want to say in this book, and I feel the desire to end this discussion by offering you a final immersion in pure Haanel wisdom. I might mention that I have taken the editorial liberty throughout this book of slightly modifying Haanel’s quotes so that they read smoothly, are in the same tense as the manuscript, and communicate just one thought per paragraph. I initially went through the entire document and selected what seemed to be the best 20 percent of his writings for this book. Then I did minimal line editing so that the quotes read easily without any outdated terminology. In this way, I translated his hundred-year-old quotes into our current wording and punctuation.

And now, in the same spirit that I’ve been offering psychological and spiritual commentary upon Haanel’s seminal paragraphs throughout this book, it’s now your turn to read what we consider some core direct quotes from Haanel and experience your own insights and reflections. Some of the following quotes are ones you’ve already read that beg further reflection; others will be new to you.

First, be sure to take a minute or so to pause and enter into the Silence. Then, as you stay tuned into your breath experience (which connects you with deeper insight), read a quote and be open to whatever inner flashes of realization emerge effortlessly from your Source after reading that quote. Listen to your own inner voice, and enjoy!

If you wish to express abundance in your life, you can afford to think abundance only, and as words are thoughts taking form, you must be especially careful to use nothing but constructive and harmonious language, which, when finally crystallized into objective forms, will prove to your advantage.

Whatever you desire for yourself, affirm it for others, and it will help you both. You reap what you sow. If you send out thoughts of love and health, they return to you like bread cast upon the waters.

Always concentrate on the ideal as an already existing fact; this is the germ cell, the life principle which goes forth and sets in motion those causes which guide, direct, and bring about the necessary relation, which eventually manifest in form.

Thought constantly, eternally is taking form, is forever seeking expression. If your thought is weak, critical, destructive, and negative generally, it will manifest in your body as fear, worry, and nervousness; in your finances as lack and limitation; and in discordant conditions in your environment. If your thought is powerful, constructive, and positive, this will be plainly evident in the state of your health, your business, and your environment.

Concentrate only upon the things you desire. Thought is creative. When you meet with success, gain, or any other desirable condition, you will naturally concentrate upon the effects of these things and thereby create more, which leads to even more.

Abundance will not come to you out of the sky; neither will it drop into your lap. You must focus on the Law of Attraction and the intention to bring this law into operation.

The affirmation “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy” will bring about harmonious conditions. The reason for this is because the affirmation is in strict accordance with the Truth, and when Truth appears every form of error or discord must necessarily disappear.

Successful people hold in their minds the ideal of the condition they wish to realize. They constantly bring to mind the next step necessary to manifest their ideal. Thoughts are the materials with which they build, and the imagination is their mental workshop.

Imagination is the matrix in which all great things are fashioned. An ideal steadily held is what predetermines and attracts the necessary conditions for its fulfillment. Mind is the ever-moving force with which you secure the persons and circumstance necessary to build your success structure.

Through a powerful statement of intent, hold in mind the condition desired; affirm it as an already existing fact. This indicates the value of a powerful affirmation. By constant repetition it becomes a part of you. You are actually changing yourself; you are making yourself what you want to be.

Make a mental image of physical perfection; hold it in the mind until it is absorbed by your consciousness. If the desire is one which requires determination, ability, talent, courage, power, or any other spiritual power, these are necessary essentials for your picture. Build them in. They are the vital part of the picture; they are the feeling which combines with thought and creates the irresistible magnetic power which draws the things you require to you.

When the conscious mind is certain that a thought is true, that thought is sent to the subjective mind to be made into flesh, to be brought forth into the world as reality. Impress on the universal subjective mind the particular thing which you desire as an already existing fact. Believe that your desire has already been fulfilled; its accomplishment will then follow.

If you wish harmonious conditions in your life, you must develop a harmonious mental attitude. And in order to possess vitality your inner thought must be impregnated with love. Love is a product of the emotions; therefore, let your emotions be controlled and guided by intellect and reason.

The first form which thought will find is language, or words. This determines the importance of words; they are the first manifestation of thought. Thought may lead to action of any kind, but whatever the action, it is simply the thought attempting to express itself in visible form.

Insight enables you to plan properly and to turn your thought and attention in the right direction, instead of into channels which will yield no possible return.

The most commonly accepted definition of wealth is that it consists of all useful and agreeable things which possess exchange value. It is this exchange value which is the predominant characteristic of wealth.

The power to create depends entirely upon spiritual power. Therefore the successful businessperson is more often than not an idealist ever-striving for higher and higher standards.

You have the power to form your own mental images, regardless of the thoughts of others, regardless of exterior conditions and environments. By exercising this mental power and freedom you can control your own destiny, body, mind, and soul.

In the last analysis, thinking is the one great cause in life. To control thought is to control circumstances, conditions, environment, and destiny.

If you desire to visualize and manifest a different environment, the process is to hold your ideal in mind until your vision has been made real. Give no thought to persons, places, or things; these have no place in the absolute. The environment you desire will contain everything necessary; the right persons and the right things will come at the right time and in the right place.

What you visualize already exists in the spiritual world; this visualization is a substantial token of what will one day appear in the objective world, if you remain actively faithful to your ideal.

Imaginative visualization forms impressions on the mind, and these impressions in turn form concepts and ideals. They in turn are the plans from which your vision turns into material form.

There is but one sense, the sense of feeling. All other senses are modifications of this one sense. Feeling is the fountainhead of power. This is why you must put feeling into your thought if you wish results. Thought and feeling are the irresistible combination.

Construct mental images that are scientifically true. Subject every idea to analysis and accept nothing which is not scientifically valid. When you do this you will attempt nothing but what you know you can carry out, and success will crown your efforts.

If you desire material possessions of any kind, your chief concern should be to acquire the mental attitude which will lead to the result desired. This mental attitude is generated by a realization of your spiritual nature, and your unity with the Universal Mind which is the substance of all things.

Become so interested in thinking about what you desire, so engrossed in your subject that you are conscious of nothing else. Such concentration leads to intuitive perception and immediate insight into the nature of the object concentrated upon.

Concentration does not mean mere thinking of thoughts, but the transmutation of these thoughts into practical values. Fundamentally the subconscious is omnipotent; there is no limit to the things that can be done when it is given the power to act.

Your degree of success is determined by the nature of your desire. If the nature of your desire is in harmony with natural law or the Universal Mind, it will gradually emancipate the mind and give you invincible courage.

You will get only what you give; those who try to get without giving always find the Law of Compensation relentlessly bringing about an exact equilibrium.

Cultures are continually making progress in the methods which they use to come into communication with the Universal Mind and its infinite possibilities.

Begin by paying attention. Before long you will have aroused interest. This interest will attract more attention, and this attention will produce more interest, and so on. This practice will enable you to cultivate the power of attention.

You must “be” before you can “do,” and you can “do” only to the extent to which you “are,” and so what you do will necessarily coincide with what you “are”—and what you are depends upon what you “think.”

Large ideas have a tendency to eliminate all smaller ideas so that it is well to hold ideas large enough to counteract and destroy all small or undesirable tendencies. This is one of the secrets of success: Think big thoughts. The creative energies of mind find no more difficulty in handling large situations than small ones.

If you wish a change in conditions, all that’s necessary is changing your thought; this will in turn change your mental attitude, which will in turn change your personality, which will in turn change the persons, things, conditions, and experiences that you meet in life.

And once again, here are your Focus Phrases:

  1. “I choose to focus enjoyably inward.”
  2. “My mind is quiet . . . I am now in the Silence.”
  3. “I am open to receive guidance from my Source.”
  4. “I know what I want.”
  5. “I feel connected with creative power.”
  6. “My vision is right now perfect and complete.”
  7. “Each new moment is manifesting my dream.”
