About the Author

A. L. Sowards grew up in Washington State and now lives in Utah with her husband, three children, and an ever-growing library. She enjoys reading, writing, learning about history, and eating chocolate, sometimes all at once. She also enjoys swimming but rarely combines that activity with reading or eating. Sowards is a BYU grad and a former student athlete. As an author, she is known for heart-pounding action, memorable characters, careful historical research, and clean love stories. Her novels include a Whitney Award winner, several Whitney Award finalists, and a recommended title from the Historical Novel Society.
