While many of the green smoothie recipes call for fruit, adding sweetness to the smoothies, this smoothie is actually spicy and only includes veggies. If you want something different that has a nice, spicy kick, this is the smoothie for you. The jalapeno, cilantro and ginger all combine to make a flavorful drink that you are sure to enjoy.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 cucumber
- ½ lemon, peel removed
- ½ head of romaine lettuce
- 2 celery stalks
- 1 clove of garlic, peeled and chopped
- ½ head of cilantro
- ½ onion
- ½ jalapeno, step and seeds removed
- 1 inch piece of fresh ginger
- 1 cup of water
How to Make It:
Wash all of the vegetables before making your smoothie. Cut the cucumber, celery stalks, onion and ginger into chunks. Chop the jalapeno and garlic too. Make sure that the peel is removed from the lemon you are using.
Add the water, cilantro and romaine lettuce to your blender. Blend until combined and smooth. Add the lemon, celery, cucumber, garlic, onion, jalapeno and ginger. Continue blending. Add more water if the mixture is too thick. Blend until mixture reaches your desired consistency. Makes two servings.
