Bananas are always a wonderful addition to green smoothies and this smoothie combines romaine lettuce and bananas. The parsley, cilantro and apples kick up the flavor too and add important nutrients that your body needs to the green smoothie.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 banana, chunked
- 1 ½ cups of cold water
- 1/3 bunch of fresh parsley
- 1 head of romaine lettuce, chopped
- ½ fresh lemon, juiced
- 3 stalks of celery
- 1/3 bunch of fresh cilantro
- 2 green apples
How to Make It:
Peel the banana. Wash the romaine, parsley and cilantro. Cut the celery into chunks. Juice the ½ lemon and reserve juice. Wash the apple and then remove the core. Chop the apple into pieces.
In the blender, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, parsley, cilantro and water. Blend on low until the mixture becomes smooth. Next, add the apples and celery to the mixture, increasing the blending speed. Last, add the lemon juice and banana chunks, continuing to blend until the entire mixture is smooth. Enjoy right away. Makes 4 servings.
