Ears can be a bit intimidating, and many artists use hair to cover them up, not attempting them at all. But with a little trick and some practice, ears themselves can be a fun drawing subject!
The ears are located between the eye midline and the bottom of the nose. The width of the ear at its widest point is roughly half of its length. In profile view, they are placed on the side of the head, measured from the outside corner of the eye to the outer fold of the ear, a distance equal to the distance between the outside corner of the eye to the chin. To draw the ear, think of it as a question mark with a lowercase y inside. This will help you remember how to draw all of those intricate inner ear folds. Try taking a picture of your own ear to work from.

Draw a question mark with a lowercase y inside.
Add the outer line of the ear and lobe. Thicken the question mark to form the inner ear. This will be highlighted.
Shade the ear canal and around the inner ear folds.
