They

Why are women a fraction more than us?

Lie with a woman and wake with Liberation,

her bondage is our lash, her labor our dismissal.

Her witness bugles to my dubious shade:

Woman victorious, animosity dead.

(Will the worm turn and sting her victor heel?)

Stendhal knew women deserved an education:

“No civilization rests on its best men,

its highest level, the mothers of its children—”

no vacation from shepherding the lost children …

if a mother no longer cares for her children,

civilization sinks to its institutions,

says, “Your fucking little psychopaths,

I didn’t ask for them, they came for me.”
