Chapter 13

Edwards Gets His Wish

March, 2011

Edwards finally got his day in court. On March 15, 2011, a panel of three judges swung the gavel and agreed to set the execution date. August 31, 2011 was the day. Edwards had conned and manipulated the entire system to pick his own manner of death. He had never given that consideration to any of his victims.

You Tube has videos of his guilty plea and can be found at these links:

After receiving his date with the needle, Ed contacted the Geauga Maple Leaf press and granted them an interview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCA9DEIRdZI&feature=related). In that interview, Edwards detailed his ability to set up alibis, plant evidence, manipulate police, testify falsely and use the system for his schemes and plans of murder.

“I’ve always been into crime. I’m always scheming and planning.”

“So, you’re saying you are a cold blooded killer?” the interviewer asks.

“Yup, that’s right,” Edwards would respond.

By the beginning of April 2011, Cameron finally got the green light to interview Edwards. He had filled out the paperwork, got all the proper signatures, and was good to go with the prison, warden, and the attorneys. Cameron was leery of Edwards’ motives in agreeing to the interview. He had been a cop too long and he knew cons were the best at manipulation.
