2 cups sugar
½ cup milk
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
In a medium saucepan combine the sugar and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until a digital candy thermometer reads 240 degrees (soft-ball stage). Add the dates, nuts, and vanilla. Beat until creamy and thick. Pour into a greased 8 × 8-inch pan or a pie pan. Cut into squares to serve.
