Chris,
I want to start this by saying, I miss you every single day.
It took me a while to understand why my best friend had decided to leave us, but I’m learning, and I’m sorry you went through feeling as if you were alone.
But you’re making changes down here. We’ve raised $90,000 for Corey’s son from his craft beer sales. And then we named a beer after you. It took a while, but we figured out a way to mix your two favorites into one. All proceeds will go toward the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. You’ll be helping those who are going through the hurt you had. Your beer will help save lives.
Can’t wait until we meet again someday and share a beer, brother.
Jax
PS. She’s in good hands, I promise.
I finish the letter, place it back into the drawer where I keep the last one he left for me, and sigh. Then, I stand and slip the diamond engagement ring into my pocket.
Next time I return to this desk, I hope to be engaged.
Thank you so much for reading Jax and Amelia’s story! Are you ready for Essie’s story? Preorder here.
