Nantahala Brewing Company is North Carolina’s westernmost brewery. It is tucked far into the Great Smoky Mountains in downtown Bryson City, now a major outdoor tourism destination. Bryson City is located just a few miles from both the start of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the oldest Cherokee Indian village on record, dating back thousands of years. The brewery is named after the Nantahala River, a whitewater-rafting destination known for its many rapids. The river even serves as a training ground for Olympic athletes.
