5 marshmallows, cut in half

  1. To make the legs and feet, push a cocktail stick into a Jelly Tot, then thread on 4 ring-shaped sweets. Make 2 legs per robot. Push the legs into the long side of the marshmallow.
  2. Place a Jelly Tot at one end of a cocktail stick, for a hand, and add 2 ring-shaped sweets, for an arm. Push the cocktail stick through the marshmallow and add 2 ring-shaped sweets and a Jelly Tot to the other end of the stick, for the other arm and hand.
  3. Cut a Jelly Tot in half. Use glacé icing to stick the halves on top of the marshmallow, for antennae. Draw a face using a non-toxic pen.
  4. Spread some glacé icing over a Marie biscuit. Cut a marshmallow in half, and place it on one side of the biscuit, to support the robot and prevent it from falling over. Stick the robot to the biscuit, resting it against the marshmallow. Leave to stand for the icing to set completely.

  1. Roll out the fondant and cut out circles. Drape each circle over a marshmallow, pressing down lightly. Allow to stand for a while and then draw faces using a non-toxic pen.

Tip: Wet the marshmallows slightly to help the fondant stick.

Creepy brownies

  1. Prepare the brownie mixture and bake as normal. While the brownies are still warm, cut into squares, or use cookie cutters to cut shapes. Melt the chocolate and use dabs to stick the jelly sweets on top of the brownies.
  2. Burrowing earthworms
  3. Make these with leftover brownie bits. Place a layer of crumbled brownies at the bottom of a transparent plastic cup. Insert a jelly worm so that it is visible, then almost fill the cup with more crumbs (add chopped marshmallows or other crumbled biscuits to fill the cups, if necessary). Push one or two creepy sweets and another worm into the top of the crumbs.

  1. Push wooden skewers through alternating marshmallows and other sweets. Using glacé icing, stick creepy jelly sweets to the sides of the marshmallows, and one on top.
  2. Leave to set.

Tip: Dipping the point of wooden skewers in lukewarm water makes it easier to push them through marshmallows and sticky sweets.

  1. Starting at the tail of the jelly snake, thread a wooden skewer through the snake, making an ‘S’ shape and alternating with liquorice sweets, as in the picture.

Slime cups

3 packets of jelly powder (green, yellow and orange)

  1. Prepare each colour jelly according to the packet instructions and allow to set. Cut or stir up the jelly so it isn’t solid and smooth anymore.
  2. Spoon some of each colour jelly into a cup, mixing gently to combine the colours. Insert a sour worm so it is half in and half out of the jelly, and position a plastic spider on top of the slime.

62.5ml (¼ cup) popcorn

sunflower oil (to pop corn)

Jelly Tots (± 4–5 per ball)

16 marshmallows

20g (1T) butter

30ml (1T) green jelly powder

  1. Pop the popcorn (in oil or in the microwave, as preferred). Allow to cool. Place the cooled popcorn in a large bowl and add the Jelly Tots.
  2. Melt the marshmallows and butter together in the microwave. Add the jelly powder and stir the colour through. Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the popcorn and stir well. Quickly roll into small balls, and leave to set.

  1. Spread glacé icing over the Marie biscuit and stick 2 feet on top. With another dab of icing, stick a marshmallow upright on top of the feet. Leave to stand until set.
  2. For the arms, thread a Jelly Tot and 2 small ring-shaped sweets onto one end of a cocktail stick. Push the cocktail stick through the marshmallow and add another 2 small ring-shaped sweets and a Jelly Tot.
  3. For the head, thread a mini liquorice sweet onto one end of a cocktail stick, followed by a small ring-shaped sweet, apricot sweet and a large ring-shaped sweet. Push the other end of the cocktail stick into the marshmallow.
  4. Stick 2 small ring-shaped sweets to the front of the apricot sweet, for the eyes. Draw a mouth and nose using a non-toxic pen.

  1. Spread green butter icing over the Marie biscuit. Press a marshmallow into the centre and decorate the edges with coloured sugar crystals. (Make some aliens bigger by using 2 marshmallows, stuck together with a little glacé icing.)
  2. Use a wet sosatie skewer to make 3 holes in the marshmallow. Using a little glacé icing, insert 2 Astros for the eyes and a sugar ball for the nose.
  3. Make 2 holes on top of the marshmallow. Cut the liquorice strips into small pieces, dip one end into some glacé icing and insert them into the holes to resemble antennae.

  1. Using a sharp knife, cut the heads off the Jelly Babies. ‘Mix and match’ by placing a head of one colour onto a body of another colour. (The sweets should be sticky enough for the heads to stay in place, but if not, use a little glacé icing and allow to set.)
  2. Using glacé icing, stick 2 silver sugar balls to the face, for the eyes. Cut the liquorice strips into small pieces and stick two to the top of the head, for the antennae.
