With each book I write, I still experience awe and wonder when I hold the final product in my hands. Countless hours—and, at times, it feels like blood, sweat, and tears—are poured into each manuscript. And it never ceases to amaze me how many people have a hand in the process.
For starters, I wouldn’t have a single book published without the support of my incredible family. You guys are my biggest cheerleaders and have made so many sacrifices to make this dream come true. I am forever grateful.
Dave Cenker—you’re not only a fabulous critique partner, you’re a wonderful friend. And having a “writing buddy” who understands the marvelous, mysterious, and sometimes maddening creative process is a blessing and a treasure. And the fact that you share my love of alliteration is an added bonus.
Savannah Hendricks—without your insights, I would probably still be working on this novel. Thank you for getting me back on track.
Daria White—I am so grateful for your friendship and feedback over the years, and I look forward to growing in our careers together.
Gigi Blume, Elizabeth Bromke, and Melissa McClone—you ladies have blessed me with endless laughter, advice, and encouragement. I cherish our little community more than I can express. And Gigi, special thanks for your insightful critique and stunning book trailers—shout-out to your design service Sodasac Author Services.
Bob and Care—I treasure being able to include memories of Kay whenever possible, and I appreciate being able to pick your brains about certain details I’ve forgotten.
John and Lynn—incorporating tidbits from our Armenian side of the family means so much to me. And I thoroughly enjoy talking about the different coffee brewing techniques and delicious foods—not to mention sampling them during our trip to Lebanon!
Audrey McCord—our birthday “date night” watching Singin’ in the Rain gave me the idea for Eliza’s proposal, and now, I can’t imagine it happening any other way.
And, as always, a thousand thank-yous to the brilliant team of professionals who turn my words into a finished product. Ana Grigoriu-Voicu with Books-design, each cover becomes my new favorite. And you nailed this one on the first try! Beth Attwood, somehow—with your magical editing skill—you manage to turn my bedraggled draft into a beautiful, polished manuscript. And Krista Dapkey with KD Proofreading, your keen eye and incredible knowledge—particularly when it comes to coffee—makes my prose sparkle.
And lastly, thank YOU, dear reader, for joining me in Poppy Creek for three books and counting. Your letters, emails, and comments mean the world to me. And sometimes, they even influence which story I’m going to write next…
